Tennessee Barbecue In Colorado
OK, I know, I know. I'm not Irish and never will be but I sure do love a good corned beef brisket flat cut recipe just as much as any Irish person would. This recipe, I'm about to share with you, has actually been passed down through the family for a long time now. I honestly don't know how an Irish recipe could've fallen into the hands of my French/Native American grandmother but it did and I'm forever grateful for that. One last thing, before I share this with you. This recipe is so fabulously easy you may have to make it every day. Furthermore, I will give you my leftover soup recipe and my Aunt Lora Torsey's red flannel hash recipe to make this meal go even further.
The other big daddy of smoking wood...if you're from Texas. This wood is the most powerful of all smoking wood. Mesquite has a very strong and robust flavor. Best used with beef and larger cuts of meat. Of course, it's often the choice for Texas slow cooker bbq brisket. Too much of this smoking wood will render your food inedible. Go light and mix it with other smoking wood until you get a better feel of mesquite's power. I may throw a chunk, or two onto my Thanksgiving turkey fire if I'm feeling a bit rebellious. A chip, or two on the grill adds a nice southwest flavor to a steak...just go easy!
Another sauce which uses tomato sauce as the base is the Texas sauce. Again it is used on the meat before it is served. The raw meat is usually rubbed with various spices to flavor it then the sauce is added after it is grilled to add the last flavor enhancer. The sauce also contains different kinds of spices including paprika, chili powder and cumin. This sauce is perfectly served warm on the side of a smoke-cooked bbq brisket.
Here is a five-minute recipes for your slow cooker bbq brisket cooker. Put in a roast with a few ingredients after breakfast. When you come home at dinner time, the wonderful aroma of a savory meal will greet you.
