I went to college in Baltimore and lived in and around that city for my whole early adulthood; it is to me what Paris was to Hemingway. Except, you know, for being Baltimore. I still have a cabin at an Undisclosed Location on the Chesapeake Bay that is my permanent home base and writing retreat, and some of my dearest friends still live in Baltimore, so I'm always going to come back here. As far as slow cooker braised duck, goose or turkey, we found that soaking the bird overnight in a light salt brine will help cut down the gaminess throughout the bird.
